Lives Lived As Examples.....Written for Our Instruction

How God used ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary tasks.

March 21

Joshua

Exodus 17:8-16; 24:12-18; Numbers 13, 14, 27; Joshua 1 - 7, 10, 13, 23, 24

Acts 7:44-46; Hebrews 4:6-8; Hebrews 11:30.

1.  Joshua is a good example of being the ideal "second man."  This takes more grace than being the leader.

2.  Joshua was a servant of Moses, but first and foremost a servant of God.

3.  There is no sign of self-pride in the life of Joshua.

4.  After the death of Moses, Joshua became the leader and it did not change him.  In fact, he became closer to the Lord and His guidance.

5.  Joshua placed great emphasis upon the Word of God.  A good example for our leaders and for us, who might be followers.

6.  Joshua was a diplomat, yet spiritual. He teaches us that we should possess all of our possessions in Christ, just as he told Israel to possess the land.
